Blog #2 Global Goals

The Global Goals are series of 17 goals created by the United Nations in 2015. Gender Equality is the more that I find more significant for me. This goal description is “Achieve equality and empower all woman and girls”. With goal is something woman have been struggling with all throughout history. I think it time that we all take actions into causing a change. It’s not fair that a woman is paid less when a man gets paid more for the same job. There shouldn’t exist a difference in the way we treat boys and girls, because they are both are as competent in the job. 

Also many woman in the world today especially in Latin countries are treated differently by their father or another man in their life. Woman are unestimated, so can’t grow to their full potential. Woman should feel repressed by others just because of the way they were born. 

For me this goal starts in the home of every child. How a person is educated, is the way they act in the future. Kids since they are little should be taught that  women and men are exactly the same. Girls as well should be encouraged to dream big and aspire for whatever they want in life. Girls shouldn’t be put into standards, and they high expectations by their parents. Boys should be taught to respect woman, and know that intellectually there is no difference between girls and boys. I think if every parent takes this step in educating their child to respect and know women are the same as men it’s a step forward for gender equality.
