Current Events Reflection
During this course of current events I have found that I
feel more updated with the news on current topics surrounding our world.
Instead of silently listening to what my parents are discussing in the dinner
table I have found my self sharing my opinion with them and being interested in
whatever topic they are discussing. My sisters no longer make fun of me because
I’m not updated with current issues because I know what they are. This course
has allowed me to explore different views on different topics for example
cannabis. Marijuana was a drug that I thought had no upsides but in this class I
learned many of the good side effects cannabis has. At the same time current
events was a time to take the load off and yes we learned a lot but we it was a
time where we could joke around and be ourselves. Since current events was only
made up of about 7 people, I felt like I got to know every individual in our
class a lot better. It was also a pleasure to get to know our teacher, Mrs.
Costales as I had not taken a single class with her. I am proud of all of the
topics we have covered during this class but my favorite was the topic on Paris
and its terrorists attacks. It was something that was very real and that was
going on at the exact moment. Ms.
Costales thank you for everything during this time and for being extremely
patient with every single one of us. I hope that I am able to take another course
with you in the recent future (although not very likely because I am graduating
in 4 months!!) This is our last class and I have a lot of nostalgia, but I will
always remember the incredible time we had during current events.
I know this is late, but thanks for being a good contributor in class. Wish you all the best in college and life!
