Child Mortality

Child Mortality around the globe has been a big issue that has caught the attention of many individuals. Countries who have worked to lower their child mortality like countries in Africa have had its ups and downs but after many years of struggling have achieved, like Kenya. In the Dominican Republic, Child Mortality has been having a constant decrease, due to many factors that help child mortality. Some of the factors that have an effect on Child Mortality are; Economy, Education, Hunger, among other important factors. The economy today has been constantly improving. This is due to the fact that more working opportunities are being created. This helps families with its financial situation and help them at least have something to give to their kids, like nutritious foods, which will help them develop. Education also here in the Dominican Republic has improved substantially. Margarita Cedeño, current Vice President of this country, started a program for young kids that will show them what it is to have kids at an early age. But, even though education has improved, there is still a lot of improvement to be made. This is why the future for this country in specific looks bright for me. In other countries like Sweden, Singapore, Japan, USA, which are among the countries that have the lowest rate of Child Mortality, will continue to have low mortality rate. The only reason which this countries obtained the lowest child mortality rate is because they found the key early. Countries like China, which their families were composed of 4 or more, had big mortality rate. The USA had small families which helped the Mortality rate be lower, and this was the trend other super powers around the world took to lower their Child Mortality Rate. This can also be an option taken in Dominican Republic around the "pueblos", all these families are composed of a lot of kids so they can help them work in the farms and colmados or what ever they have. This is why I believe our future, the future of Dominicans looks bright. Hopefully Child Mortality will continue to diminish, so we can have a brighter future.
