Migration and Immigration
This cycle we learned about immigration and migration. At the start I had a little of background knowledge. In human rights class we have talked about the refugee crisis but not this deeply. We started out learning about the refugee and asylum seekers. We learned majorly about Syria because that is the country that is having the most problems. The country has been filled with terrorist, most famous ISIS, that want to take over the nation. People are scared for their lives so they are moving to other countries. They are mainly immigrating to Italy and Greece because they are the two closest countries. They are being considered illegal because they don't have the papers to move into the country. These illegal refugees are going through a real struggle. They have to move to a country where they don't speak the language and are also not welcomed by the population. We also learned about asylum seekers. These people are the ones that apply for asylum. Asylum seekers are refuges but have applied for the legal papers to stay in other countries. And the last type of immigrant we learned was about undocumented. We saw various TED talks of people that have been living in the United States for their whole life but are not documented because there parents moved illegally. I think these people have to work hard so they fit in society. The refugees can't be caught by the government. Then the asylum seekers have to wait a very long process so they get their papers. And last the illegal aliens which have to be very silent. They have to live their life perfectly so they don't get caught by authorities. A quote that stayed with me for the whole unit was "They tell us to keep our chin up but out head down."
Great job!
