This time, we learned about immigration. Immigrants are people that move away from the country that they currently live in to another country. People can become citizens of the new country they live in legally, and officially be part of the country, that is if the board accepts them. People can also move illegally to another country, and become illegal immigrants. There are two types of immigrants. These are the asylum seekers and the refugees. The asylum seekers are people who by their own will left their home country for political reasons and are seeking asylum in another. Refugees are immigrants that are forced to relocate because of war, persecution, and other bad situations. Counties facing war, political disaster, or an economic crisis are the countries people are moving out from. Recently, I saw a video about a women that was living undocumented in the US, she talked about her life about an undocumented citizen. She lived in her home country but her dad was not winning enough money for the family and wanted to move to the US because he believed in the "american dream". He moved with his family to the US to work in a Dunkin' Dounats, he was trying to make him and his family legal citizens but they would always get rejected. They ended up living in the US as illegal immigrants. The women grew up knowing she was living there illegally and that they were called "aliens". They were treated like second class citizens. The life of an undocumented citizen is not good.
