Legal and Illegal Immigration
As an immigrant myself, I support legal immigration completely because it helps country grow and allows for deeper connections between people. I feel I know more about countries and how to adapt to new situations thanks to moving around a lot. Immigration to some extent should be encouraged, as it brings business and new friendships while also building a future in which Earth is more united.
But now when it comes to illegal immigration, to me it's much harder to decide. Some people illegally immigrate for better opportunities, but then take advantage of not being documented. This allows them to abuse welfare benefits without paying any taxes. Especially in countries with a lot of public works this is harmful. An example of this is in Argentina, where one has the right to an almost free healthcare, a lot of illegal immigrants rush the hospital and fill it up not allowing the people who do pay taxes to take the benefits from paying those taxes. Sometimes what some illegal immigrants will do is jump over the border, get the free healthcare then just go back to their country, which to me is not something I can ever agree with. Of course there are situations where illegal immigrants leave their country due to just continuous horrible situations and I believe in this situations they should still make an attempt at paying taxes and in anyway they can try to become legal.
Finally when it comes to refugees, I find it's a much harder topic in which to agree with. I believe completely in the humanity side, which means I feel for the refugees that have to escape their country and leave everything behind. I find it horrible that they can no longer expect to live in their country because everything has been stripped from them. Their rights, money and life has been taken due to a highly oppressive government and it's something I find horrible. But while they also complain about how the system to get into a country is extremely long, arduous and complex and while this sounds like it's a way to help choose the refugees who actually need help and not terrorists trying to abuse the system I don't think it's good enough. You watch the news today and the countries that accepted the most refugees tend to have a huge amount of terrorists attack. Countries like France and England are plagued by terrorists attack including bombings and vehicular manslaughter. They receive around 5-6 islamic terrorist attack every year and in some cases they enter through the refugee accepting system. Meanwhile Poland and Hungary countries who have not been accepting any refugees (Which is not something I necessarily agree with) have had 0 terrorist attacks for the last few years, something which has to be taken into consideration.
This disparity to me is something extremely concerning and I solution has to be found that gives us the same result as Poland. Better psychological checking should be in place and despite that it may make the long and complicated process that is the refugee acceptance system even longer, we should take it into consideration. The people that are already there should be looked after too, and a decision which takes everybody in mind should be reached.
This map shows terrorist attacks in 2016, Poland and Hungary suffered 0 islamic terrorist attacks and earlier maps show the same.
