My name is Liam Tello. I’m eighteen years old, living in the Santo Domingo. I was born in Lima, Peru and have always identified myself with that side of my heritage. I like to surf a lot and so go up north every weekend. This is one of my main activities. Besides studying (a lacking part of my daily routine, I suppose), I read a lot about religious traditions, including Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam and others. I go through periods where I focus on what area interests me; all in all I see they are all of the same root. I also read literature quite a bit, though not as much as I would like, as I am primarily focused on religion. But I see that literature is of the same essence as religion to an extent of perception. After all, the Chinese fused the two, as did the Tibetans. I write in journals, trying to weave worded threads together to paint a picture; sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail—but that is for each to decide on their own opinion. I also try to draw, though I primarily copy works that catch my eye. I play Djembe. All these things I try to maintain steady in my daily life, but I, as many others, have falling prey to sloth; I have been watching a lot of anime these past weeks, and wish deep down to break this cycle. Apart from these daily activities, my day is permeated with pointless and reckless thoughts. I seek and seek and never find, because fundamentally my path of seeking digs ever into an invisible wall of psychological density. What do I seek? I seek to make myself, to build a Liam. I seek a place and reputation in society, with good society by standards that I set based on abstract images I have formed. This is what I seek, and intellectually I partly see the absolute folly of this. But the issue (calling it an issue reinforces it) is so fundamental that the change required is an absolute revolution on all levels of my consciousness.
