During class we watched many Ted Talk videos where
illegal immigrants showed their point of view about it. It broke my
heart to see the reality: millions of aliens where being ignored or mistreated
daily. They are afraid to live their lives like normal people because of the
consequences it can have on their migratory status. Immigration specifically in
the Dominican Republic and in the United States is extremely messed up. I
understand that both countries have extreme policies in coordination with
illegal immigration. I believe that if you travel to another country illegally
than you should clearly be deported. Of course there should be exceptions for
this rule, for example if you have your daughter or mother but this can be
obtained legally. I think the ideal plan would be to halt immigration for a
short period of time during which you can find out exactly who is living in
your country. In this time we identify the illegal aliens and analyze whether
or not we should deport them or legalize them. It gives us time to look at our
laws and change our policies if necessary in order to allow for a balanced
immigration of new citizens. There are many illegal immigrants who have made a
life in your country and that have a family, it is time we recognize them. I sincerely
believe it is essential for the importance of the safety of all of our citizens
and our nation. We need to have a higher education level and abilities for self-support
to be checked more thoroughly and more often during a comprehensive health
screening. We have to think of our nation's future, the future of our people,
our children but most importantly the future success of our countries American
and the Dominican Republic.
I like your idea about halting immigration for a while. Don't know if it's feasible but it is good.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that idea is original and I think it would be a good way to take more organized actions that are more fair for the immigrants.
