course reflection. very inspiring course
Social citizenship, a concept which extended throughout the entire semester, was very moving, in that it opened up to my perspective a way of thinking and acting in which love and respect is extended to all people and our environment. The sense of coexistence expressed in the many ted talks we saw were very powerful in making me consider my lifestyle and way of thinking. Also, the many documentaries we saw in the course deeply informed me on a variety of subjects relevant in this day and age. Not only did these documentaries and ted talks inform me, but helped to develop my own opinions and perspectives as well. For example, watching the many documentaries focused on marihuana legalization in this class, I became better informed on the subject, and, therefore, instead of being completely for its legalization without much form added to my argument, I was able to make conditional arguments based on the known benefits and draw-backs in relation to the characteristics, safety and politics of the plant and its potential legalization. Also while taking this course, I spent some time making a broadside poster board which dealt with gender equality as its subject. In making this poster, I spent a good amount of time thinking about the topic, focusing more on the perspective of women in a world run by men, as well as focusing on the correlations between a country’s rating of gender equality and its rating of happiness. In carrying out this small project, as well as in watching many very interesting ted talks, I was able to contemplate the topics of gender equality, inform myself, and make more informed and formative opinions, developing a stronger perspective.
Overall this course was informative and inspiring.
It was a pleasure having you on class, although there was a period you were not \_("/)_/ Wish you the best!
