Last Blog as a CMS Student

This last semester, taking Current Events was rewarding to my knowledge. The class consists off watching ted talks, looking at world-wide news, and learning about politics around the world. We were lucky this last semester since we had the elections here in our country, and the elections in the United States getting close. We looked at both elections in depth and everyone gave their opinion. We also talked and saw important topics that had to be discussed as ISIS is currently. They are a world threat and discussing this issue was really important.
I believe this class can be made much more interesting. I believe, by making seminars weekly on a topic of everyone's choice. For example, we would of chosen the DR elections and its candidates. We would have discussed about this for a whole hour, this gives everyone the perspective of each other and makes the class more interesting. Another day we would have chosen the US elections, and so on...
Also, the class would have been more engaged by not seeing those eternal ted talks. I believe there are more videos that are impacting as well. An important date, even though is not current, was the Cuban Missile Crisis. By watching the movie Thirteen days, which explains in details everything, everyone would have been more engaged. After watching this movie, two teams could have been made and simulate the ONU meeting and play a game of debate. By this a role of debate would be given to the students and learning how to debate properly would have been another plus for all of us.
Different Ideas that overall would have given the class more enthusiasm, but overall the class was really good as it updated my knowledge on events happening around the globe.
Thanks for the years you teached me and for having patience with me, I know I am not a peace of cake but I really appreciate everything you did for me.
THANKS!!

  1. I believe we did do the DR and US elections and its candidates! I appreciate your opinion, but watching a movie about something that happened in th 60s is not CURRENT events. That is history. You are right, you are not a piece of cake...I wish you well and hope you mature enough to appreciate the privileges you have. Give back to the world, be nice to people, you will be a better person for it.
