Course Reflection

Over the course of this semester I have learned a few things, actually. As cliche as it sounds I actually was able to gain new information and be able to apply it in the real world. At first I thought this class was going to be an easy A. That I wasn't going to work much and that I only had to show up to pass. Boy was I wrong. You're not gonna do a huge workload but you will have work. So if you think that you can just do nothing and pass you are mistaken. Furthermore, we got to use a lot of interesting canvases to demonstrate the information we learned. In other classes for the past four years I have never used Instagram, Twitter, or Blogger as much as I did this semester. While it was annoying to have to write the blogs and post on Instagram and Twitter, it provided a nice change of scenery and It was nice not to have to take notes or write essays or use a notebook.
This class taught me a lot of things. It taught me current events that I knew were going on but didn't fully understand. But I think the biggest impact it had on me was on feminism. I am by no means anti-feminist but I am not a feminazi. The video that Ms. Costales showed us of the college professor really affected my views on the subject. The way he used comedy as his canvas to portray his ideas really spoke to me and I was able to grasp his message better than I would've anybody else's. The point is is that there are a variety of ways to get a message across. The Ted Talks she showed us helped us be exposed to different ranges of academic ideas or social ideas. Some were boring but filled with details and some were funny and entertaining.
