Current Events Reflection

During this semester, I had the opportunity to explore different topics about the world. I researched and learned about political, global, and current events happening in the world. In this class I learned to value everything I have, since I saw many videos and images that shows the other side of the world that we dont know about. This includes poverty, lack of resources, lack of opportunities, and more issues around the world that unfortunately are not that great. This class made me feel like a privileged person. Something that I really did not appreciate as much as I do now. This shows us the ugly, but truthful side of the world.

During this class, we also saw many Ted Talks which is cool at times, but I believe that there were some Ted talks that I did not really enjoy that much due to the fact that they were long and boring. I Prefer watching short informational clips instead, or reading a short article. The blogs I believe helped us expressed how we felt about certain issues which is what I am currently doing right now. It gave each of us write down what we actually felt about a particular current event and we had the ability to share our opinions without being judged which is pretty cool. We took the class during a time in which politics were coming up. The US presidential elections as well as the Dominican elections so we got involved in that a lot more than usual. Overall, I enjoyed my time during this course and I learned to appreciate things and events. Thank you Ms. Costales For being a great teacher throughout the years!
