the most used and popular illicit drug used in the united states is called Marijuana or how the "cool kids " says it mary jane.this drug is also called cannabis and it comes from a plant which is intended for psychoactive drug or medicine. this drug is illegal in most states but some states allow the legalization of medical marijuana instead of recreationally.i have four reasons for the united states to legalize weed. one thing it can make money for the US government and also create more jobs for Americans which would lead to a better economy. the government can tax weed just the same way the same way its taxes tobacco and make a profit of 7 billion dollars.the second reason that prohibition of weed doesn't make sense because American still smoke weed even though is illegal and won't stop smoking it in the future. another reason is that weed has shown that it can result in medical discoveries and can have health benefits.for example, weed has shown that it can help fight against pain when going through chemo and even treat depression.Lastly, weed doesn't have the addictive like other legal substances and these other substances have killed people from an overdose. For example, alcohol is a huge example and I think that alcohol is a bigger problem than weed especially where I live in the Dominican republic. About 6 people per day have died from alcohol overdose while weed has killed none. I have concluded that weed isn't the drugs that most people think aren't dangerous but that it actually has upside to it.
