WWIII

    We live in a time of technological advances. In medicine, transportation, food supply ,but a great amount of these advances are in the area of the military. Every year the U.S. alone spends about a trillion dollars on their military, the world is overspending to be prepared for another Great War instead of trying to prevent it. If all of this money was spent in fixing the world we live in then there would never be any fear of conflict. To put this into perspective, in order to end world hunger 20 billion dollars need to be spent every year. This is an incredibly large amount of money but in comparison to the U.S.’s annual budget for defense it is only 1/50 of the trillion dollars spent yearly. This shows just how low society has degraded. The amount of money spent every year also ensures complete and utter destruction of the planet Earth as we know it. There are about 20,500 nuclear warheads in the world today, that is more than enough to end humanity and just about enough to destroy our planet’s total landmass. I strongly think that we are closer than ever to the end of humanity as we know it. The increasing tensions between North Korea and many world powers is as great as it has ever been and in the other hemisphere there is the Syrian civil war that has caused the U.S. and Russia to bump heads. I believe that now more than ever humanity needs to unite under one single cause, to save ourselves. To have impact not the decisions our countries make and to at all costs stop another war from happening. A war that will certainly end the world as we know it.
