Gender Equality

Gender issues has been a controversial topic for a long time now. People have this distorted view of seeing women and men as different and at the end of the day we are all humans. THe most famous discussion surrounding this topic is equal payment. It is said that women earn 80% person of what men earn to do the same job. That obviously is not correct. If two humans do the same job they should be earning the same amount to do it. Another big issues are double standards. THey apply both for men and women. An example is saying that men can’t hit women but women can hit men. In my opinión this is senseless. I don't see why men and women can do something and if men do it it seems socially incorrect and also the other way around. Stereotypes also are a major problem. There are stereotypes like men can't be emotional or that women cant be athletic that make sense. The worst thing is that society has been proven wrong so many times and they still follow these stereotypes. When Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs in 3 sets that proved that women can be better than men in sports. These stereotypes twist our view and influences how we see people. To conclude this topic is a very talked about it and we have to do something about it. We can't be treating people different based on their gender. And the end of the day we are all humans and we were all born the same. It's not gender what defines a person is how they are.
