Immigration
In this unit we discussed and learned about immigration. Recently, due to Donald Trump's campaign, immigration has been impacting the world more than ever before. Immigration is the international movement of people into a destination country of which they are not natives or where they do not possess citizenship in order to settle. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Individuals that are living in countries that undergo internal conflicts, wars, political crisis, etc tend to leave as refugees to other countries with no papers or any legal permission to live their, technically making them illegal immigrants. We watched two TED talks, where both were living in the United States without no papers. They both explained how through the years they were adapting more to the community and feeling like an american citizen, while on the other hand feeling they weren’t american since they couldn’t even renew their license. The worst part is that if they got deported, they could never return to their new “home”. Many countries take refugees to help them and provide shelter in the meantime, but unfortunately majority of the world doesn’t have enough resources to provide to their people and the refugees escaping their country. In present day people who leave as a choice of survival are usually coming from Syria and other parts in the Middle East. I am not for Donald Trump but I believe he has a point when speaking about immigration in the United States. I understand he is not the wisest person when it comes to decisions and words but in this case it doesn’t apply. When refugees are forced to leave their country, they often see USA as their first choice. That can lead to overpopulation, scarce of resources, and shortages of jobs. These countries must be helped to prevent this kind of issues from happening.
