a short autobiography and a reflection on the news
My name is Luisa Andrade Marinozzi. I'm a sixteen year old originally from Italy and Brazil, but currently living in the Dominican Republic. My hobbies include drawing, painting, reading, hiking, listening to music, writing, and wasting my time watching Netflix series. I'm particularly drawn to history and learning about language and literature. I come from a very politically-aware family, and our dinner table discussions are usually reflections on what we have read in the news I like to think of myself as a global citizen because I have lived in a couple of places throughout the years, and I'm awfully invested in the current events or issues of the world through the news. Checking the news has become habitual for me, but sometimes it can be very draining because of the general pessimism of the news. This negative tone of the news can make people feel very hopeless but it can also inspire change. When it comes to current events, I'm mostly interested in environmental issues, international politics and conflicts, and I love a good opinion piece. Because of the overload of information of the internet, it is difficult to know what to use your attention span for. Sometimes I find myself having an incredibly short attention span which leaves me no patience to read long, wordy news articles. However, I always make an effort to stay updated on the news because it is very easy to get lost in the little bubble of school and friends where one can forget about the real issues in the real world.
