Humanity is on a Collision Course with Nature

Humanity has roamed the Earth for thousands of years. Over time humans have developed new technologies and exploited different resources in order to advance their societies. From hunting and gathering to the industrialization of civilization humans have significantly affected the planet they've lived on. Both directly and indirectly, knowingly and unknowingly. Now the effects of humanity have taken its toll on the planet. The effects can now be seen, measured, and experienced by everybody living on the earth. Sea levels are rising, the average temperature is increasing, and the amount of carbon in the atmosphere is reaching dangerously high levels. Humanity is facing probably the biggest challenge that we have ever had to face. It is up to all of humanity to play its part or our descendants are destined for a doomsday, apocalyptic existence. Not knowing whether their children will ever get to live on this planet.
Humanity has pushed nature to its limits. We have cut down rainforests for logging and farming. We have drilled oil in the oceans and have made the oceans susceptible to devastating oil spills. But most importantly and most significantly we have burned a plethora of fossil fuels and released an astounding amount of carbon dioxide into our atmosphere. The average global temperature has increased 1.35 degrees, once it reaches a whole 2 degrees the planet will experience severe repercussions. If humans do not attempt with all their might to fix this problem now in the moment it will become increasingly difficult in the years to come. We cannot wait any longer if we want to make a change.
