Blog Social Index
Social index is a factor that not many people focus on but something that really determines if a country is powerful, or if they are using their GDP the right way in order to measure progress as a country. In my oppinion, in order for a country to be stable they should be constant in all particular areas so that citizens have a good relationship with the way their country is ran. For example: There are some countries that might be greater than others in terms of population and recognition. But there are countries that can have a higher standard of life even if it is a weaker country than the bigger one. The Social index is what measures each countries progress, and success. These are like global goals plans to make improvements on world issues that currently need to be focused on. I believe that certain minimum amounts should be allocated into each of the different spectrums of the key things that make a country "succesful" These countries are evaluated on their ability to innovate, and provide to their loyal citizens. The index defines social progress as the capacity of a society to meet the basic human needs of its citizens, establish the building blocks that allow citizens and communities to enhance and sustain the quality of their lives, and create the conditions for all individuals to reach their full potential. The Social index of The Dominican Republic in particular, are surprisingly quite good. To be honest, I did not expect the rates to be as high as I did when I researched. Facts say that the well being and happiness in the Dominican Republic. It is currently the 77th country with regards to highest social progress index. The opportunities that are being created in the country are also fair and are taken. However, the education and the rights of people because of their class should be changed. Also I believe that more employment should be provided for people so they can get higher incomes. Everyone should deserve education and rights. In overall, this country has a good social index to be a 1st world country. But I also believe that there are certain things that we MUST do in order for this country to keep growing. It is true that the government has a lot to do with the social index factors in the country, but this is also up to the citizen. Since these are the people that elect their government and fight for what they want in democracy.
