Muslim Fundamentalism

“Why I study groups like ISIS, Hezbollah, and Hamas”

Islamophobia had swept across the globe since 9/11 attacks back in 2001, and has grown incrementally up until the last few years, where terrorist attacks have steadily increased in Europe. With future president Trump focusing much of his 2016 running campaign on deportation of illegals and muslims fueling a islamophobic hatred. This of course did not help the current state of the world.

Yet many Muslims living around the world, despite being harassed for their religion, have stood against the terror groups that have called on them to fight Western infidels who hate them. They stand for freedom, and compassion rather than stand with radicals for hate and violence.

Their are other ways to fight terrorism and islamophobia using non-violent methods. People can show unity and bravery in the face of bomb threats which deter radicals, or how one can unlearn how to hate and learn to love and accept others despite their religious background or beliefs.

These are different sides of how to fight extremism. Not all wars are won with guns. Not all battles are won with soldiers. One is not born hating another. One is taught to hate another’s skin, faith, gender, sexuailty. But it is also possible to unlearn things.
And learn to love again.
