Miss Representation

The movie Miss Representation, explains the gross image our twenty-first century society has created about young girls and women. Our media has constructed this figure of women, portraying them as unintelligent sex objects, simply made to do housework.
The film interviews teenage girls with stories about what today’s media says about women. The term “You can’t be what you can’t see.” meaning young girls need empowering, strong, positive role models to become strong empowered individuals, but struggle to do so because the media has neglected to create any such individual role models. The movie calls for pledges against gender misrepresentations.
