TED: Islam Extremist
In the two videos we watched on Islam I saw a recurring theme. The first talk was about fighting back the fundamentalist and sharing the stories of those who fought against them in non-violent way. The second was about a man who had a terrorist father and how he explained that he was not his father. Both had two very similar themes: Fight the terrorism with words not violence and do not condemn the population for the works of a small group. People tend to forget that we are not all the same which also applies to the Muslim. They let their fear take over their rationality and just assume that all of that culture or race or religion is bad. These two speakers warned of such thinking and that we must be open to others and not close people of because of their associations. Let us not judge others simply on belief or appearance and help one another. That is the message.
