legalization of marihuana

In the 21st century, there have been huge debates and rants on the legalization of Marihuana. Currently, since it is an illegal drug people see it as something that is forbidden and prohibited. However, what if i told you that marihuana has literally 0 reported deaths? Apart from this it is also said to be used as medicinal purposes and have actually worked efficiently. marijuana however, can also be bad because it can be a gateway to other serious and more harmful drugs. Before approving it and legalizing it, I think that they should investigate a little more on the effect that it can have in your brain especially in young people. Even though i do not really care or support for legalization, I do believe that it should be decriminalized due to the fact that many people actually have health problems that might be requiring the use of marihuana. Also I believe it should be decriminalized because there are thousands of people thrown in jail yearly because of such an issue. Is it really that big of a deal for the authority to catch you with pot? Or are they simply exaggerating the issue because it is "illegal"? Stronger drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth, and others should definitely be kept illegal. This is because indeed the harm that all these drugs cause you is way greater than that of marijuanas. these drugs are proven to be highly dangerous and addictive, as well as giving the user effects that might not be ideal for it to be legalized. I believe that they should decriminalize it though, and they should start treating patients who are actually addicted to these drugs instead of just throwing them in Jail. I think of these people as sick people, rather than criminals. People who actually need help in order to be free from their addictions.
