Islam Ted Talks Takeaway

From the two Ted Talks, we saw in Current Events class the one that was most compelling one was the one of Zak, the son of a terrorist. This one, overall, is more emotional since it is a story told from his perspective, and it is amazing to see how he overcame the belief of his father to become a better person. The fact that his dad was involved in the 911 attack, something that everyone knows, makes this Ted Talk easier and more powerful. From the other Ted Talk the woman from Muslim descent, was also informative but not as moving. In this Ted Talk, she criticizes the media and why it doesn't let us see the full picture of what is happening around us. Something I noticed was that these people, of Muslim descent, seem to understand those who are misinformed of the relation of this religion and terrorism. The Ted Talk of the woman gave a few stories of incidents with terrorism people there in the talk might not know. The story that was most compelling in that talk was the one of the art exhibition and the mom with kids who went no matter there was a bomb the day before.
