Legalization of Cannabis
Legalization of
Cannabis
Although
Cannabis, or Marijuana, has been perceived as an illegal substance that can be
punishable by prison time, it is time that government officials face the truth.
It is time that cannabis is legalized medically around the entire United
States. Lets face the facts. Did you know that no person has ever died from a
marijuana overdose? However, in the US, about 38 thousand people died from an
overdose on prescribed drugs. So why are these distributed legally?
Cannabis is
also a source of medicine that can help heal or treat a number of diseases or
maladies. There is limited evidence suggesting cannabis can be used to reduce
nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, to improve appetite in people with
HIV, and to treat chronic pain and muscle spasms. These are common maladies and
pains that occur daily to thousands of people. So why can’t it be prescribed in
all states of the US? If these samples of cannabis used are low on THC, they
will not display drastic side effects like recreational marijuana does.
So why not
legalize it? If it is such a safe and reliable drug for many maladies, there
should not be a reason not to do so. This can be a lifesaver for many people.
What would you do?
