World Peace

The Dominican Republic is such a small island, that I feel we are not affected at all by the situations around the world. However, after this cycle of learning about ISIS and other non-state groups, I feel that even though I am not directly affected, the rest population is. I feel that world peace is a possibility, but one that is very far away. As long as humanity stops the egocentric mindset, nothing will walk towards the path of peace. It is nearly impossible for ALL countries to be at peace. Even since Darwin's time the survival of the fittest has been the ideal. Humans are all about competition and being better then the other, but sadly, we have learned to prove ourselves through war. Due to this, I believe there is a possibility on having a third World War. Even though countries are signing peace treaties, there are now non-state groups, such as ISIS, who are responsible for much of the violence in the world. We are now afraid to take planes, to visit Paris, to be in crowded areas, we are no limited to beautiful places in the world because of these many world issues and civil wars. If people can explode bombs, hack planes, turn down towers, what is the probability that they would cause issues amongst the rest of the world? Think about it.
