Semester Overview
It is strange to think that already my first semester as a junior in this class has passed so fast. It seems like yesterday I was exited to take this class the first day and develop new skills. Upon my completion of this semester I have gained an incredible amount of academic knowledge that is indescribable. I have learned how to think in different ways and I now understand the benefits of this class which the most important was being an educated person on what is happening worldwide. This semester in Current Events has been an awesome experience. I have learned so much about current issues and how to use the media/technology safely.
Current Events is a class where we have discussed current world issues and we have learned how to discuss them in an educative way. We have also learned strategies/tips on the media such as working on the google apps and implementing our creativity on projects such as the infographic. The work I have received in this class was far more than I expected. I thought this class was going to be "chill" like many of my classmates thought as well. But, at the end I really enjoyed all the work that was done in this class because it was enjoyable and easy, yet it still demanded our creativity.
One thing that I have really enjoyed in this class is the use of social media such as Instagram and Twitter to engage in current issues. I am a person who loves to use social media and this was a class that helped me express my love for it. I also liked writing blogs because it has helped me developed my writing and it has encouraged me to express my ideas on different topics. On the other hand, one thing that I didn't like was the TedTalks. I found that they were too long and some even made me sleep.
This semester has been very successful for me in Current Events. I continue to believe that this will be forever my favorite class of my junior year. I will miss this class dearly!
