semester reflection

This past Quarter, Quarter 2, I felt I did so much better than the first. I worked more diligently, participated more in class discussions, payed more attention, didn't talk out of turn that much. I felt this was because I was more interested in the topics and world issues we analyzed this semester. There were also many things I liked better in this quarter than the last, and I think this is why my interest and engagement in the class was more prevalent than last quarter. I liked the new policy of one week on, one week off o blogs. It allowed us to have freedom of choice regarding topics, and more time to further learn about the topic and expand our blog. Also, this quarter, there weren't as many twitter publications. I am not a big fan of them, since it is just a short quick overview of an issue/ situation, and just by listening and skimming quickly on the twitter page you don't actually learn anything from it. I like to do in depth research. The hands on project on how women are exposed/reflected, and women issues was by far my favorite. Women issues have always been on one of the top in my list of interests. And, when combined with watching a documentary, art, creativity and hands on project, it really moved and inspired me. This current events course has been loadssss of fun and I would definitely retake it. I learned from my mistakes from 1st quarter and got better on the 2nd, which helped me become more engaged and better understand modern world issues.
