Politics in Dominican Republic

in the Dominican Republic, there is a lot of debate on whether the politicians are doing their job are not. It is true that throughout the years, progress has been made in regards to advancement in things like streets, tunnels, businesses, etc. However is all the money being used correctly? The word is that politicians do part of their job by using the money to improve the country. However, there is also a lot of money that falls into their hands. In the politics there has been a lot of corruption. It is evident because now a days you go out in the street and you see posters of candidates everywhere. Everyone wants to be a politician. But how do we know who we can actually trust to do a good job? The PLD has been in power for over 15 years and people are starting to get tired of the way that they are doing things. Yes it is true that we have seen changes, but with the money that dominicans spend on taxes (which is huge) there should be more things being done in order to improve all the areas of the Dominican Republic. This is why people disfame politicians and they say that they are actually stealing money from taxes and only using part of that money while keeping a cut for themselves and for their own benefit. A lot of corruption has also been done in regards to certain individuals who have committed frauds and crimes and still get away with it. An example if the case of Felix Bautista (which every dominican is mad and knows about).
