Humanity is on a collision course with nature
Humanity is on a collision course with nature. Due to the advent of industrialization, we, human beings, have been indiscriminately damaged Earth’s vital resources. Human activities led by our greed and selfishness inflict harsh damage on the environment. As we all know, this resulted in irreversible pollution and climate change by causing changes in Earth’s atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases. Then, there is a bigger question to be asked. “What did we exactly do?” First, the burning of fossil fuels emits harmful gases such as carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere and this affects the amount of solar and infrared radiation coming to Earth. As concentrations of greenhouse gases increase, temperature is likely to rise rapidly. In addition, there are huge dead zones where excessive nutrients from factories are accumulated. Therefore, oceans where used to be teeming with various marine organisms do not exist anymore. Moreover, we destroy tropical rain forests for our own profit. Many researchers have predicted that "at present rates, some critical forests will be gone in a few years". Then the ecosystem will be destroyed also. Fortunately, we still have an easy access to various critical resources our planet is providing; however, if fundamental changes and stiff measures are not made Earth will lose its resiliency. In order to avoid the collision we shouldn’t be oblivious about the damage we have put on our environment. It’s our duty to make our planet revive again. We should vigorously look for solutions to sustain life for us and our next generation.
