Refugee Crisis
Is this really happening? 70 years after the Holocaust, it
appears that the world is letting another mass genocide take effect. Syrians
everyday are being killed in the midst of a civil war in their country. Tanks
in the streets are replacing the local kids in their bikes. Despite their
un-involvement, terrorist groups like ISIS and the Syrian government are
pushing these people out of their homes. So where do these millions of
civilians end up? Well, most are spreading either to Europe, Africa, or other
parts of the Middle East. However, they are not being let in without proper
documentation.
Doesn’t
this remind you of a certain situation during World War 2? I want the readers
to think to themselves: what do they think of the Holocaust? Well, it is almost
exactly what we are witnessing today. Unfair leaders and other groups are
pushing out a certain group of people to exert their own power, forcing about
12 million innocents to find homes in other places. However, only 4.5 million
are in just five countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, and Iraq. Countries
like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Russia, and Japan are living in the past.
Instead of embracing people in need, they reject each and every one of them.
