Hi! My name is Roxana Rizek. I was born on January 12 1999 in the Dominican Republic, A small island in the Caribbean. I believe that personality is shaped at birth. They say that how you react when you first face the world determines your reactions for the rest of your life. When I came into the world, I took my time. I spent 14 hours in the process and even then I refused to leave my comfort zone and meet new people. My Parents are both from the Dominican Republic as well. I have an older sister Nabila; she is 20 and attends to Northeastern University in Boston. I frequently miss her very much I also have a younger sister Ela, she is in 8^th grade and is very dedicated and passionate about ballet. Samir is my younger brother he was born on October 15, 2011. I am a 12^th grader in Carol Morgan School, this is my 14^th year in the same school, and it’s my second home. My favorite subjects are art, English and social studies. I love art because I am a very creative and open-minded person; it’s the part of the day I enjoy the most. My biggest passion is to help others. I love doing community service, my summer of 2016 was a moment for me to discover this passion. I went to Rustic Pathways an organization that helps communities all around the world; I went to Jarabaccoa and build aqueducts for the community of Pinar Quemado. I would describe my –self as a private young women but that is always open to challenges and changes in life. I love to learn new things everyday and meet new people from all over the world.
