Hello my name is Marie-Pierre Capeans, and I was born on Santo Domingo on July 26, 1999. My family is composed of five members, my mother Gina. My father Guillermo. And my brothers, Gianfranco and Marcelo. However, who am I? I am a student, a senior in a school that saw me grow up. I have attended Carol Morgan School since I was four and I am both nostalgic and exited to move on to a different routine. From the beginning of summer 2016, I knew everything had changed. I noticed on how people looked at me, at what they asked, at what they saw. Even though, I am still in school countless expectations have been dropped on me, where am I going to attend college? what am I going to study? where do I see myself in 10 years? Its in my fathers face, its in my mothers face. Therefore, this summer was all about finding myself, discovering my passion, embracing adulthood for the first time in my life. This summer I was able to experience something that for me was mind-blowing, I was able to participate in an internship in London, for once I did work that mattered. My boss trusted me, my boss depended on my work, a whole business counted on me. This experience, made me realize that it was time to grow up and piece together all the puzzles that will make up my future. For instance, I became totally certain which field I was going to pursue, Psychology. That resolves one expectation of those that surrounded me. Secondly, I decided I was going to study in Madrid, I was able to visit, be interviewed, and start with my application process. That resolves expectation number two. Thirdly, and still unresolved is where do I see myself in ten years. Thats a expectation that wont be resolved for ten years. I see my life day by day, make the best out of experiences, grab everything that is given to me. My life is not based on a plan, I will create my own destiny.
