I support Mary Jane

Many have different views against the legalization of marijuana. There are those who support the drug completely, those who support the drug for medical use only and then there are those who don't want the drug to be legal for any reason. As an individual, I believe that marijuana should be legalized for medical use as well as personal use. In my opinion, I believe that this drug is not a drug that can put lives at risk, but save lives. As I watched the videos in class about young kids with epilepsy and saw how cannabis, the medical term for marijuana, would actually improve and the seizures would decrease, it made me realize that this is a drug that actually works. Also, this drug can be altered so that the effect of the “high” is reduced and the effect that helps with diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, anxiety attacks etc increases. In addition, marijuana is safer than any other legal drug. Marijuana is safer than alcohol and tobacco, which are legal drugs and its effects are less severe as well. Furthermore, I also believe that if marijuana is legalized, many would stop smoking it. People want what they can't have. This means that is marijuana is illegal many people just try to get it for the thrill of it. This is what happened with prohibition back in the 1920’s. Alcohol became illegal and it became so popular that everyone was making their own alcohol as well as smuggling it. However, once it became legal this reduced as well as its use. I believe that marijuana should be legalized for both medical and personal use. I support Mary Jane.
