Marijuana Legalization
Marijuana, or cannabis, has always been a controversial drug on whether it should be legalized or not. Most of us only view marijuana from one perspective, which is the one that talks about how marijuana is a drug that alters the mind and gets you high.
Recently, marijuana has become a drug that can also be used in medicine. It has many characteristics and features that permit it to act as a recreational drug that can help children with cancer, epilepsy, among many other diseases and syndromes. Did you know that pain is the main reason people ask for prescriptions? How does marijuana work in these situations where it is used for medicinal use? Your body already makes marijuana-like chemicals that affect pain, inflammation, and many other processes. Marijuana can in some cases help these natural chemicals work better. Medical marijuana can be smoked, vaporized, eaten, and taken as a liquid extract. Even if marijuana does indeed help some medical conditions, I firmly stand by the idea that marijuana should not be legalized. If a person who has a serious medical condition need cannabis, or would like to try it as an alternative to cure his or her disease, then the hospital should be permitted to prescribe it, even if the state, city or country does not have it permitted. Everyone who suffers from a life threatening syndrome, should be allowed to use weed as a means of getting better, or at least try it to see if it truly works.
