To be honest the reason I enrolled in this Current Events class for semester two is because people told me that it was the easiest class around. And for the most part it was. We talked about many current events that were happening around the world. Although most of the topics were not interesting at all in my opinion, I had a great time this semester. We had great discussions during which we all shared our opinions. The topics I enjoyed the most were the controversial ones. My favorite, obviously, was cannabis legalization. The documentaries we saw about it clearly showed that the benefits of cannabis outweigh its drawbacks, if there are any. Also there were TedTalks. Probably the worst part of this class. They were long and boring, even though they gave us very important information they clearly did more harm than good to the class. Also the blogs, like this one, they should be either shorter or once every two cycles. There are also topics that I believe was not interesting at all was “Gender Issues”. In my opinion it was the worst one of the year since people would get roasted for saying their opinions during discussions. Plus, not many people care about this topic. I recommend this course to people that like to have discussion and to people that like to be informed on what is happening around the world. If you like dealing with social media and using technology in a class then this is perfect for you. It also has one of the most liked and funny teachers in high school.
