Summary of Learning

This year in the current event course i have learned a lot of useful information which helps me be aware of the global issues that are presently occurring. In this class we spent weeks speaking about Trump and the immigration problem. We concluded with a mix of different opinions on |Donald, but the same on immigrants: we are one world; therefore we should unite as one and restore peace. We also started talking about hunger and poverty, which belong to the global goals. About these 2 subjects, I was informed that the problem is not that there isn't enough, but that the allocation of resources is what's not right. Another subject we covered in depth was the legalization of Cannabis. We learned that the chemical THC is what makes Marijuana harmful, but if we use weed with a very low amount of this, then it can be very helpful as a medicine. We even saw films related to kids who only relied on medicinal weed to survive. In addition to this however, we saw the gender inequality subject that is occurring presently. We deducted that men are seen as stronger people, and for some reason they get paid more for doing the same amount of work as females. We also agreed that there is a very inaccurate stereotype about women regarding they can only cook and be housewives. In the end, this course seemed like a very interesting topic for me. I was always hearing adults speak about such issues never understanding. But once I enrolled myself in this course I was finally able to know what was really happening in the world we live on.
