WW3 or World Peace

The world from our perspective seems incredibly violent. Terrorist attacks, civilian bombings, and the threat of nuclear warfare are very real threats in the world today.  From our perspective, the world seems incredibly violent  but compared to other periods of history, we are experiencing a period of relative world peace compared to previous centuries. In Europe for instance, before the 21st century, there have not been 100 years of world peace. There have always been regional wars, or civil war, or some sort of international conflict. However, ever since the Second World War, most of the world powers made efforts to maintain peace with the creation of international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, and even NATO. The EU, as a matter of fact, has kept peace in Europe that has never been seen before because of the unity and diplomacy it enables.  I believe that peace will be maintained in Europe. However, in other parts of the world, keeping peace will require a lot of work. I'm not sure that these conflicts will escalate to a Third World War but they are still devastating for the people involved in the conflict. Hopefully, in the near future, we will finally achieve world peace, but this will only be accomplished with the resolution of the current conflicts in the Middle East. It is important to be postive, and advocate peaceful/ diplomatic development of issues.  I want to see a peaceful world in my lifetime, and I believe this goal is very achievable.
