A Campaign to Legalize Marijuanna

Since it has become more popular amongst adults and teens all around the world, and it has not been proved to do as much harm as other drugs, there has been a lot of controversy over the said "harm" that marijuana can cause us. Many do not believe that this drug is lethal or relatively harmful when compared to others like LSD and meth. This is why they are against the law that made marijuana illegal for anything other than medical purposes. There are statistics that show that there has not been one recorded death that has been caused by Marijuana. Also, many artists and people of related fields use this drug to boost their creativity and place them in a state of brilliance when it comes to their work. According to the first amendment in the US constitution, everyone has the right to the pursuit of happiness. Marijuana is a substance that brings many people happiness. So is it right that this law takes away the pursuit of happiness for many Americans?  It is also not addictive and is actually way less addictive than something that the great majority of people consume, caffeine. Also, I am a firm believer that if legalized, people wouldn't consume it as much. Adults and specifically teens' desire to smoke marijuana is driven by the the feeling of rebellion they get when doing so. Since it is not legal, they seek the thrill of breaking the law and going the contrary to what is expected of them. These are just a few reasons why I believe it is more intelligent to just legalize marijuana.

  1. Pursuing happiness is important, however it does not mean at all costs. I would have liked a more factual approach to your opinions.
