Did you know that more than a one million people died in Ethiopia due to hunger? This is a very astounding statistic considering that we have all of the resources and technology to solve this problem. Food is one of the most basic needs a human being needs to survive. I think that we have a lot of access to infinite resources as a whole, it’s just a matter of distribution. Also, "If we can unlock the technology we can transform the face of hunger and malnutrition." (TedTalks) Every 10 seconds we lose a child for hunger. This should be unacceptable considering that we have everything that it takes for world hunger not to be a problem anymore. This makes you wonder if this is due to our ignorance of the problem. Do people underestimate this issue? Do they mistake it for something smaller? Without meeting the most basic needs of survival, the human body will be affected and have severe circumstances due to malnutrition. World hunger not only has a grasp on child mortality, it also affects the way these children's mind is developed. The question most researchers seem to be asking is how this problem is still happening if there is enough food for everyone in the world? This means that it is just a matter of the food that is wasted and the distribution of the food that it is not. In order to start solving such a massive problem we need to shape or transform our mindsets to focus on being a problem solving leader because without leadership and ambition, this problem will keep existing despite our obvious capability to solve it.
