Quality Education for the World

The Global Goals are a set of 17 world wide goals developed in order to create sustainable development. Overall, the 17 goals are all developed in a way that every citizen can contribute on their accomplishment. The global goal that represents my personality is quality education for all.

42% of African school children will drop out of their education before actually finishing it. This number is absurd, which is why I find myself interested in contributing to this world issue. Some of the targets presented by The Global Goals organization is that by 2030 the world should be receiving quality, equal, and free education for all. Furthermore, they are also plan to achieve that all youth and a substantial part of the adult populations becomes literate and numerate. I find this task to be challenging but possible. I believe it is our duty as educated citizens to help those who are not educated learn as well.

Through a non-profit organization which I created, Toca Mi Corazón, I plan on contributing to this global goal. My ultimate goal is to build a new preschool in La Hondonada, a very poor community in the Dominican Republic. In order to do this, I am working on creating a business plan with local artists to create a pop-up shop just the first year of Toca Mi Corazón. Hopefully I will me able to make significant change to this community in the Dominican Republic and continue expanding change all throughout the country.

All the global goals need attention, but the reason I chose education for all is because I believe education is the path towards success. The lack of education, as well, leads to many of those world wide problems such as gender inequality and poverty. With fundamental education one automatically receives the opportunity to perform better at any task proposed at hand. This being said, lets all contribute to a quality education for all.
